KASTLE

How can I upgrade my old Kastle to the new 1.5 version?

It is possible to upgrade your kastle but it is not exactly easy. You can find more information about it here: https://tinyurl.com/y4wqf228

I want to play Kastle with my keyboard.

Kastle does not track 1V per octave, so it will change the pitch as you hit a key but it will not play the corresponding tones.

Can I process external sounds through Kastle as an effect?

That is not possible. Kastle is a synthesizer and its inputs are designed only to accept modulation signals.

I have this another synth with mini patch points, can I connect it directly to Kastle?

We do not recommend doing this as it could damage your Kastle when the signal reaches out of the safe zone. The mini patch inputs do not have any protection to them. The only protection circuit is located in the I/O jack socket so we strongly recommend patching only through the onboard I/O jack.

Can I plug CV from my modular directly into the mini patch points?

The mini patch inputs do not have any protection to them. The only protection circuit is located in the I/O jack socket so we strongly recommend patching only through the onboard I/O jack. Modular signals work with a different range of voltage so it would be very easy to destroy your Kastle when going directly.

Can I use headphones directly with Kastle?

Yes, you can, but there is no volume control.

How can I control volume on Kastle?

There is no dedicated volume control so you will need control the volume on your mixer, audio interface or amplifier that you plug your Kastle into. If these devices have no volume controls or you want to use headphones, we recommend using a passive headphone volume attenutor that will let you reduce volume. It is cheap and widely available in electronics stores.

My Kastle does not work with batteries.

First you should try a new set of batteries and be sure they are inserted correctly and with correct polarity. If you are 100 % sure about the polarity and you are sure the batteries are full and tested in other device you should contact us for investigation.

Is Kastle compatible with PC/MAC/Linux?

Kastle does not create any digital connection with your computer. The onboard USB is for power only so when you plug it to your computer, it will turn on and that's it.

All knobs to the left it produce this weird glitchy sound, is it normal?

Yes that is normal. All parameters at minimum setting produce super low, inaudible frequencies.

How can I change synthesis modes?

Plug the plus or minus pin into the MODE connector and listen to the changes. If you want to know more about individual modes, there is detailed info in the manual.

How can I sync my Kastle with my other gear?

You can plug gate, trigger or clock signal from your other gear into the Kastle ́s I/O jack. Then if you plug it into LFO RESET pin it will sync the kastle LFO for you.

If you don ́t have any device using analog clock and want to sync with your DAW, take a look at our product KLIK that will let you create clock signal from your DAW with ease. In case you want the Kastle to be setting the tempo, then you need to to run SQUARE LFO output into the I/O socket, and then plug a jack into some of your external device ́s analog clock input.
