Kastle 2 Wave Bard
What’s the difference between Kastle 2 Wave Bard and Kastle 2 FX Wizard? Can I use the Wave Bard firmware on FX Wizard?
- Both devices are built upon the same Kastle 2 platform and they share the same internal hardware. They differ in the faceplate and manual. You can easily load Wave Bard firmware into FX Wizard and vice versa.
Do I need to upload a Wave Bard firmware onto my Kastle 2 before uploading samples from the web app?
- No, the UF2 files generated by the web app already include the latest Wave Bard firmware. You can easily upload it onto your existing FX Wizard.
Do I need to be online to use the web app?
- Actually not! Even though it’s a web app, all the samples are processed locally in your browser and you can easily install the web app as a native-like application using Chrome or other Chrome-based browsers and use it without internet connection. See the full guide in the App Offline Mode section of the manual.
Can the Wave Bard record audio?
- The Wave Bard is a “sample player,” so it does not record external audio. Its layout isn’t well-suited for this purpose, and organizing samples would be quite challenging. Instead, we focused on creating an intuitive and user-friendly web app to make organizing samples easy and enjoyable.
- The Audio In jack can be used for chaining multiple devices together or, alternatively, for routing input audio through the effects. For more details, refer to the Advanced Settings section of the manual.
Can I buy the Wave Bard faceplate?
- The faceplates will be available at our B-shop, exact date TBA.
Can I flash Kastle 2 firmware on my Kastle 1.5/Drum/ARP and vice versa?
- No, Kastle 2 family uses completely different hardware, so the firmware isn’t interchangeable with 1.5/Drum/Arp.
Are the settings saved on power on/off?
- Kastle 2 Wave Bard saves input and output volumes, tempo, advanced settings /see the manual for those/, currently selected Bank and fine tuning. All other parameters and settings are cleared when the device is powered off.
What cables can be used for patching?
- Kastle 2 Wave Bard comes with a pack of 10 cables with rounded pins, if you need more you can grab extra long ones at B-shop or use any other breadboard wires (both round and square shaped).
How long do the batteries last?
- Up to 15-18 hours.
Can Kastle 2 Wave Bard charge AA batteries?
- No, it doesn’t charge batteries. It just prioritizes the USB when both options are available.
What is the USB-C for?
- Currently, the USB-C is used for powering the device and firmware updates/loading samples.
